Key Responsibilities
- Back the Head Chef on daily kitchen operations
- Run the crew through busy services
- Cover sections, mostly grill and pasta
- Add to new dishes and seasonal menus, and tighten existing recipes
- Train and mentor the junior chefs
- Keep the kitchen clean, food-safe and organised
- Own preparation, stock rotation, ordering and waste, and have each section stocked before service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year as a Sous Chef in a busy à la carte restaurant
- Strong experience in high-volume kitchens
- Excellent cooking skills, with grill and pasta in particular
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience training and supervising kitchen staff
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Teamwork when the pressure is on
