Privacy Policy

No fluff here. This page sets out exactly what MzansiAbroad (mzansiabroad.co.za) gets to know about you, what we do with it, and how you can make us hand it over or bin it. Every section kicks off with a Bottom line, then the detail.
The headline: you can look through every job on this site without signing up, and the site has no form that posts your details to us. If we have your CV or your number, it is because you emailed it or messaged us yourself.
1. Who's responsible
Bottom line: Red Migration FZC, a company based in Dubai, runs MzansiAbroad and answers for your data.
MzansiAbroad is a job site owned and operated by Red Migration FZC from the United Arab Emirates, not from South Africa. We decide why and how the information described on this page gets used, which makes us responsible for it. Our details:
- Postal address: 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
- Phone and WhatsApp: +971 50 283 2394
- Email: jobs@mzansiabroad.co.za
2. What reaches us, and how
Bottom line: only what you decide to send by email, WhatsApp or phone.
Email applications
Tap Apply by email on a job and your own email app opens with a message to jobs@mzansiabroad.co.za ready to go. Our website does not send anything on your behalf. You choose what to write and attach, and nothing reaches us until you hit send. Applicants usually give us some of the following:
- name, cell number and email address;
- a CV, work history, trade certificates, red seal or diploma details;
- passport or visa information, if you decide to include it.
WhatsApp and phone
The Ask on WhatsApp button and the Talk to us link open a private chat with our team. We then see your WhatsApp name and number and whatever you send: texts, documents, photos or voice notes. If you phone us or write to the address on our contact page, we get what you tell us. There is no contact form on the site.
Our WhatsApp job alerts channel is a separate thing. Following it happens inside WhatsApp and is governed by WhatsApp and its owner, Meta.
3. What the servers log on their own
Bottom line: standard technical records, used to keep the site running.
- Request logs. Whenever your browser fetches a page, image or file, Google Cloud records the IP address, the browser and device type it reports (the user agent), the address asked for and the time.
- Abuse limits. To stop any one address flooding the site, our server holds IP addresses in memory for a short while and counts their requests.
4. What never leaves your browser
Bottom line: your searches are yours alone.
Filtering and searching the job list happens in the page and the address bar on your side, and none of it is recorded against you. The public site keeps no personal details in your browser at all, only one technical timestamp that helps the page recover after an update. The Cookie Policy names exactly what is stored.
5. The staff login
Bottom line: visitors never log in; only our own team does.
There is a private admin section for staff to manage jobs and articles. Logging in uses Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and only accounts on our staff list get through. Members of the public have no account and no login.
6. What we do with it
Bottom line: we use it to move your application forward and to keep the site safe. Nothing else.
- Check your experience and papers against what the job asks for.
- Send your application to the employer behind the job you picked.
- Reply to your questions, whatever channel you used.
- Arrange the next steps, such as interviews or extra documents.
- Find bugs, spot abuse and protect the site, using the logs and request limits.
- Meet any legal obligation that applies to us.
MzansiAbroad runs no analytics, no advertising and no profiling, so your details are never used for any of that.
7. Our legal basis
Bottom line: where the law wants a reason, here it is.
- You asked us to. Emailing or messaging us is your choice and your consent. Tell us to stop and we will.
- Steps towards a job. Handling an application you started is a step towards a possible contract of employment.
- Running the site. We have a legitimate interest in keeping MzansiAbroad working, secure and free of abuse.
- The law says so. Sometimes we must keep or disclose information because a law requires it.
8. Who else gets to see it
Bottom line: the employer you applied to, our team and the companies that carry the data for us.
- Our recruitment team reads what you send.
- The employer for that job. Applying for a specific vacancy means we may pass your CV and application to the company offering it, normally in Australia or New Zealand. We only send it to a different employer if you agree.
- Google Cloud hosts our web server (Cloud Run), database (Cloud Firestore), request logs and staff login (Firebase Authentication). The database stores published content like jobs, guides and videos. It holds no visitor profiles.
- Our email provider holds and delivers mail sent to and from jobs@mzansiabroad.co.za.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries our chats and runs the alerts channel, under its own privacy rules.
- Authorities, such as a court or the police, but only when the law obliges us.
9. Where it's stored and sent
Bottom line: applying from South Africa for work overseas means your information goes overseas too.
Depending on what you send and where you apply, it may be handled in:
- the UAE, where Red Migration FZC is based;
- Singapore, where our Google Cloud server and database run;
- Australia or New Zealand, where most hiring employers are;
- other countries where our email provider, Google or Meta keep their systems.
Privacy laws differ from one country to the next. Where a law sets conditions for sending information abroad, we rely on the contract terms and technical protections our providers offer, and we share only what the purpose needs.
10. How long we hang on to it
Bottom line: as long as it is useful and lawful, and not forever.
- Your emails and chats stay with us while your application, the hiring process around it or a legal duty needs them. We have not set a fixed number of months. You can ask us to delete them at any time, and we will unless the law makes us keep something.
- Google Cloud request logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Request-limit counters sit in memory briefly and then fall away.
11. How we protect it
Bottom line: sensible locks on the doors, but nothing online is bulletproof.
- Every connection runs over HTTPS, and HSTS tells browsers never to fall back to an unencrypted one.
- Nobody outside can talk to the database directly. Everything goes through our own server.
- Only staff accounts on an approved list can log in to the admin section.
- Request limits slow down bots, scrapers and brute-force attempts.
A practical word: hold back your passport or ID scans until an employer or our team specifically asks for them.
12. Your rights, wherever you are
Bottom line: you can ask what we hold, have it fixed, or have it deleted, depending on the law that covers you.
Under UAE law
Because Red Migration FZC is set up in the UAE, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) applies where relevant. It may let you see your data, fix mistakes, have it erased, restrict or object to certain uses, and get a copy in a portable format.
If you are in South Africa
South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) gives people rights over their personal information, such as asking what is held about them, having it corrected or deleted, and objecting to some kinds of processing. Where POPIA applies to how we handle your information, we will respect those rights. You may also take a complaint to South Africa's Information Regulator.
Elsewhere
Australia, New Zealand and many other places have privacy laws that give similar rights, usually to access and correct your information. If you make a request under one of those laws, we deal with it on its terms.
13. How to ask
Bottom line: send one email; we take it from there.
- Email jobs@mzansiabroad.co.za and say what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, an objection or something else.
- We may first ask you to prove you are who you say you are.
- We answer within the time the relevant law allows.
- If we cannot do everything you ask, for example because the law makes us keep a record, we will tell you why.
14. Under-18s
Bottom line: this site is for adults looking for work.
MzansiAbroad is not aimed at anyone younger than 18. If you think someone under 18 has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
15. Other websites
Bottom line: once you leave MzansiAbroad, the other site's privacy rules apply.
We link out to WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and government immigration websites. Our footer also has other websites we link to: Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au). Each of these websites has its own privacy and cookie policies, so read them before you share anything there. Services that load on our own pages are covered in the Cookie Policy.
16. When this page changes
Bottom line: check the date at the top.
We update this policy when the site, the services we use or the law changes. Whatever is on this page now is the version in force.
