Straight to it. A busy country hotel pub in New South Wales needs a full-time Senior Cook / Chef who can handle pan, grill and cold larder without fuss. You will back the Head Chef and keep the juniors sharp on every shift.
Shifts run days, nights and weekends. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate. You must be already living in Australia and available to come in for a trial.
Keep your English CV honest and tight. Show your years on pan and grill, your Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery and your skills assessment for cook or chef. Knock your pub-chef CV into shape with Build AI CV and send it off.
Key Responsibilities
- Get food out to the menu guidelines and recipes
- Meet the Head Chef's standards on every plate
- Keep a close eye on stock levels
- Cut wastage right down
- Show junior staff the techniques and set them straight on cooking procedures
- Run the kitchen attendants and apprentices on your shift
- Keep the kitchen and food storage clean and hygienic, as food safety law requires
- Lend a hand receiving and checking deliveries so quality and storage are right
- Cook for special dietary needs and pitch in on menu planning
- Stick to food handling and safety procedures and report incidents to the Head Chef
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 5 years of hands-on pan and grill section work
- Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery, and a skills assessment for cook or chef
- Living in Australia and available to come in for a trial
- Flexible for days, nights and weekends
- Strong teamwork and clear communication
