This Duty Manager job suits someone who can run a licensed floor without losing their cool. A hospitality outfit near Christchurch, New Zealand, has a hotel with a beer garden and a restaurant in a coastal town, and it wants a permanent, full-time Duty Manager for both.
You will answer to the venue manager and the general manager. The work is about running the show on every shift, steering the floor crew, sorting out staff and reservations, and keeping the place on the right side of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its licences. Guests and staff should feel welcome and safe on your watch. It is quick, varied work. This can be a sponsorship role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the show at the hotel and the restaurant on every shift

Requirements & Eligibility
- Current NZ Duty Manager Certificate (LCQ + Manager's Certificate), or willing to obtain
- Hands-on experience managing or supervising in hospitality
- Great communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Strong know-how of host responsibility and alcohol compliance, plus a positive, proactive attitude that holds up, especially under pressure
