South African nurses, this one is worth a look. A full-time Registered Nurse is wanted in regional New South Wales, near Wagga Wagga, by an aged care organisation that is community owned, not-for-profit and 40 years strong.

It is a hands-on leadership job. You run the clinical side of the shift, answer to the Deputy Director of Nursing and back your carers. Aged care time on your record is highly regarded. Come from another clinical background? You are encouraged to apply as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and coordinate nursing care around each resident's needs and preferences
  • Assess residents, draw up care plans and check outcomes
  • Give meds, Schedule 8 included, by the book: legislation and organisational procedure
  • Handle wound care and clinical monitoring, and flag changes in a resident's health
  • Supervise, back and delegate to Enrolled Nurses and care staff
  • Keep clinical notes accurate, help with AN-ACC assessments when needed, and pitch in on incident management, infection prevention and quality improvement
  • Keep residents, families, medical practitioners and allied health in the loop, and support compliance with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and professional nursing requirements

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor of Nursing or a recognised equivalent
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Strong clinical assessment, medication management and care planning
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership
  • Can work independently, sort clinical priorities and respond to changing resident needs
  • Understands aged care quality, safety and clinical governance requirements, and is committed to residents' dignity, choice and independence
  • Can meet applicable aged care worker screening requirements
