Straight up, a not-for-profit aged care provider in Bunbury, Western Australia, wants a full-time Registered Nurse. Its new residence has 180 beds, was purpose-designed and opens in November 2026.

This is a hands-on leadership job. You run care staff with the Clinical Manager. You assess residents, plan their care and keep families in the loop. You keep medication, infection control and audits on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run care staff with the Clinical Manager so residents get safe, effective and appropriate care
  • Assess each resident properly and plan care interventions from that
  • Keep staff, residents, families and the multidisciplinary team informed of the plan
  • Get good resident outcomes that match care plans and safe work practice
  • Give person-centred care that keeps residents independent and respects their dignity and privacy
  • Watch residents, report changes and act fast
  • Roll out initiatives that improve care and quality of life
  • Back residents to make their own informed choices
  • Pull together assessment and care information for funding claims
  • Do change-of-shift handover with the other registered nurses and keep confidentiality, dignity and respect for residents at all times
  • Handle medication, infection control and Work Health and Safety properly, and help with accreditation audits and compliance

Requirements & Eligibility

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse is essential
  • Relevant Registered Nurse experience, preferably in aged care
  • Time spent in a multidisciplinary aged care team
  • Knowledge of the current issues in aged care and its accreditation standards
  • Ability to lead and delegate properly
  • Helps deliver positive care outcomes
  • Strong communication, written and spoken
  • Practical problem-solving and organising skills
  • Committed to keep developing professionally
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
