Nursing in aged care and already living in Australia? Read on. A residential aged care provider in regional Western Australia is looking for Registered Nurses who care deeply about older people.
Here is the deal on visas: sponsorship may be available for eligible Registered Nurses already residing in Australia. That is the condition. If you are still in Mzansi, sponsorship is not part of this ad.
The work itself means owning clinical care for residents, from assessment and care plans to medications, and leading the care staff so standards stay high.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents and act when their health or wellbeing changes.
- Write person-centred care plans with residents and families. Put them in place. Review them.
- Administer medicines and clinical treatments to professional standards.
- Lead and mentor care staff.
- Coordinate care with GPs, allied health professionals and external providers.
- Keep documentation and reporting accurate and on time, including for AN-ACC assessments.
- Stick to the Aged Care Quality Standards, policies and best practice.
- Pull your weight on infection prevention, risk management and quality improvement.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered Nurse, current AHPRA registration.
- 2+ years' aged care RN experience (or equivalent).
- Strong at clinical assessment and coordinating care.
- Can guide staff in wound and diabetes management.
- Sound grasp of medication systems, plus excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
