Day to day, you would support the health and wellbeing of residents through person-centred care and give leadership to care staff, all as part of a dedicated clinical team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based nursing care of a high standard to every resident
- Check on residents' health, track it and respond when conditions change
- Administer medicines and clinical treatments with care and accuracy
- Plan care for each resident individually, then implement and review those plans
- Act as leader, supervisor and mentor for nursing and personal care staff
- Guide Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Care Workers through daily practice
- Liaise with residents' families, medical practitioners and allied health staff
- Document clinical care and keep resident records up to date and correct
- Drive best practice in clinical governance and infection prevention, keep the facility compliant with aged care standards and professional nursing requirements, and play a part in quality improvement, ongoing education and mandatory training
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor of Nursing qualification
- Current unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- First Aid and CPR certificates, both current
- Highly regarded: earlier work in residential aged care
- Strong at clinical assessment and care planning; familiar with infection control practices and Australian aged care standards
- Excellent at teamwork, leadership and communication
- Current COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations in line with what the employer requires, plus a current National Police Check or willingness to get one
- Committed to care that is ethical, compassionate and centred on residents
