Key Responsibilities
- Give safe, respectful nursing care shaped around each resident
- Assess and watch residents' health, responding as their care needs change, and protect their dignity, comfort and quality of life
- Coordinate and oversee clinical care on your shifts, prioritising tasks and handling clinical duties well
- Lead and guide care staff at ward level, mentoring the team and helping staff grow
- Work with fellow nurses, carers and other health professionals
- Keep clinical records and documentation accurate
- Use sound aged care clinical practices and procedures, applying your knowledge of AN-ACC
- Care for residents needing palliative and end-of-life support
- Speak professionally with residents, their families and colleagues, helping keep care and service quality high
- Work rotating morning, afternoon and night shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- A recognised nursing qualification that suits practice in Australia
- Proven experience in aged care or a similar clinical setting, with experience or knowledge of palliative care
- Working knowledge of AN-ACC
- Proven leadership or experience mentoring a team
- Strong spoken and written communication
- Excellent people and organisational skills, and a commitment to person-centred care
- Works confidently on your own and in a team
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Able to obtain or meet National Police Check requirements
- International applicants must meet Australian nursing registration requirements and must satisfy the employer sponsorship and visa criteria that apply
- Willing to work a rotating roster covering all shift types
