Here is the short version. A progressive boutique accounting firm in Brisbane needs a Junior or Intermediate Accountant for its Tax & Business Services team. It's full-time, and it suits someone who already has Australian public practice experience under their belt.
The firm looks after accounting, tax and business advisory work for a mixed client base. There are no timesheets and no traditional targets, because the firm works on fixed fees and judges the job on quality, efficiency and what it achieves for clients. You'll sit close to a Senior Manager and get proper mentoring as you go. For suitable candidates who need an employer behind their visa, visa sponsorship opportunities are on the table.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for individual, company, trust and partnership clients
- Do the income tax returns and BAS for that client mix
- Help out on tax compliance
- Handle general business services tasks
- Deal directly with the ATO, ASIC and other relevant bodies
- Work with the senior team on quality work and strong client outcomes, picking up tax planning and advisory work as you develop
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 18 months in Australian public practice accounting
- That time spent in Tax & Business Services
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting
- Busy with CA or CPA studies, or keen to complete the qualification
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software
- Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail
- A positive, motivated attitude and the drive to keep developing your accounting career
