No fluff here. A Wollongong financial services business doing accounting, tax, lending and financial advice wants a full-time Accountant who already has around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice behind them.
Expect mainstream public practice work across SME clients, companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals. An experienced Senior Accountant backs you up and reviews your files, and the client-facing side grows as you prove yourself. Mentoring, CPA or CA development support and a real path to Senior Accountant and Client Manager are on the table.
Employer sponsorship may be considered, subject to your experience, how well you suit the role and your visa eligibility. Australian practice experience still counts for a lot here.

Key Responsibilities
- Turn out financial statements and income tax returns
- Work files for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Do the BAS and the day-to-day SME accounting and tax jobs
- Sort individual returns and pitch in on year-end tax planning
- Talk to clients and to the ATO when it is needed, and run your own workflow to statutory deadlines
- Back the Senior Accountant on the client portfolio in Xero and other cloud systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice accounting under your belt
- You have done financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Solid working knowledge of local tax and compliance, BAS prep included
- Strong in Xero
- Good communication on paper and face to face, strong attention to detail and a cool head with competing deadlines
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or equivalent, with CPA or CA studies, or a plan to start them, highly regarded
