Key Responsibilities
- Chat to clients about the cut, colour and style they want, including beard shaping and men's grooming
- Cut, trim, taper and shape hair using clippers, scissors, razors and other pro tools
- Do beard and moustache trims, wet shaves and hot towel treatments
- Shampoo and condition hair, treat the scalp and recommend suitable products; colour, tint, highlight and bleach hair, remove colour, and do chemical straightening, relaxing and perms
- Style with blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons and styling products
- Give clients advice on looking after their hair and scalp, keeping their style sharp and which products to buy
- Keep tools, gear and stations maintained, cleaned and sanitised to the salon's hygiene and health and safety standards
- Book appointments, manage the schedule and take payments as needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum two (2) years of full-time experience as a Hairdresser or Barber
- Proven technical skill in haircutting, colouring, styling and men's grooming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team, and sound knowledge of salon hygiene and safety practices
