Key Responsibilities
- Bake sweet and savoury pies from scratch, doing the pastry, fillings and finish
- Make ice cream, custards and other dairy-based creamery products
- Keep quality, consistency and presentation steady
- Rotate stock, order ingredients and keep the kitchen spotless, sticking to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Come up with or tweak recipes and seasonal specials when it fits
- Work with the kitchen and front-of-house crew to hit daily production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar
- Particular strength in pies, and in creamery or dairy products
- Strong pastry fundamentals such as dough, lamination and blind baking
- Understanding of dairy-based dessert preparation and food safety requirements
- Reliable and organised
- Able to work early morning shifts
- Genuine passion for baking and attention to detail, with relevant certifications such as food safety handling a plus
