Electrically qualified and into automation? A busy manufacturing site in New Zealand needs an Automation Technician for PLCs, control systems, troubleshooting, plant improvements and automation projects.
Hours are 45 a week, weekdays, usually from 7am. Veteran automation hands from the employer's other sites back you up, and the project work comes with a look at AI and robotics.
The employer prefers suitably qualified candidates based in New Zealand. Experienced overseas applicants are encouraged to apply, and Accredited Employer Work Visa sponsorship may be on offer for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Programme, troubleshoot and commission PLCs
- Support the HMI and SCADA systems
- Handle automation upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Find and fix electrical and control system faults
- Keep the plant reliable and performing
- Work alongside engineering, maintenance and production, and help bring in new automation technologies
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in electrical work or similar
- Ideally 4-5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation
- Experience with common PLC platforms
- Solid fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics
- Self-motivated and practical
