Good sales people are good sales people anywhere, Mzansi included. A growing FMCG business in Sydney wants an Account Manager to work independent retail customers and grow them. Full-time, hybrid.
Straight up, this is not a caretaker job. You keep current accounts happy, but you are there to grow them and bring in new ones. You own the territory. You negotiate. You hit agreed targets. As the business expands, there is a path to Business Manager. Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.
If you have sold into independent shops, worked wholesale or done field sales back home, your experience is the kind this role asks for.

Key Responsibilities
- Run a portfolio of independent customers and key accounts and keep developing it
- Build customer relationships for the long run
- Grow existing accounts and find new business
- Work with customers to get their needs and see the commercial opportunities
- Track sales performance and hit agreed targets
- Share market and customer insights with the business
- Represent the brand properly and own your territory and its results
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercially hungry, proactive and ambitious
- Experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, field sales or a related environment
- Strong understanding of retail and independent customers
- Proven experience in account management, sales or business development
- Strong commercial mindset with a focus on sales growth
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Confidence to identify opportunities and turn them into results
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ambition to take the next step in your career
