Software Engineer

Visa sponsorship

IT & Technology · Melbourne, VIC, Australia · Full-Time · $85,000 - $90,000/yr · Visa: Employer sponsored

No hype, just the job. A Melbourne business wants a Software Engineer, full time. You will be the person who hears what users need, designs the fix, writes the code, tests it, documents it and keeps it alive. AI and machine learning are part of the daily work, not an add-on.

The business says it may sponsor a visa if the applicant is suitably qualified and experienced. That is as far as the wording goes, so do not read more into it. Get your application in by 12 November 2026.

Developers from Mzansi know how to deliver under pressure, so put that on paper. Your CV needs your stack, your shipped projects and the results your models delivered. Knock a straight-talking developer CV into shape with Build AI CV and send it off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pin down what the business needs and write it up as technical specifications
  • Produce software designs off the back of that analysis
  • Build software applications in C++, Node.js, C#/.NET and Python, from design through development, and keep them maintained
  • Wire in AI functionality driven by large language models, using Flowise, LangGraph, LangChain or similar frameworks
  • Train up machine learning models for anomaly detection, predictive analysis, regression and classification, test how they hold up, and do the data preprocessing, feature selection and performance optimisation yourself
  • Put image processing, sentiment analysis and natural language processing techniques to work where the application suits
  • Write the APIs and database integrations that let systems talk, run unit and integration testing on them, find the defects and fix them
  • Review code so that performance, security, reliability and quality stay where they should
  • Do the paperwork properly, meaning system documentation, testing records and technical specifications, prepared and kept current

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. No degree? Then equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years' experience doing software design, development, testing and maintenance
  • Strong Python programming skills. On top of that, experience with C#/.NET or Node.js
  • Practical experience with machine learning or AI frameworks (TensorFlow, scikit-learn or Keras, for instance), and with developing APIs and working with SQL databases
  • You understand version control, debugging, testing practices and software architecture, and you have familiarity with Scrum or Agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills. You work independently and you contribute effectively in a team
  • Desirable: experience with other LLM integration tools or with LangGraph, Flowise or LangChain
