Here is a job for a manager who would rather be at the machine than at a desk. A leading national manufacturer needs a Production / Site Manager for its rural production site, about two hours from Perth in WA.
You run the site. That means throughput, workflow, safety, rosters, quality and stock, plus dealing with local suppliers and outside contractors. Machinery is the main focus. You report to senior management on the East Coast and get on with the job, with support when you need it. You also need to live near the site at least Monday to Friday, and you need a manufacturing or mechanical background.
The employer will look at applicants who need sponsorship, as long as they have the right skills, experience and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Run production throughput and workflow
- Keep everyone on site safe and sort out staffing and rosters
- Manage quality control and inventory
- Work with local suppliers and contacts, and deal with outside maintenance and transport contractors
- Have a say in facility upgrades and processes
- Diagnose equipment faults on site, know when to call in external suppliers, and communicate with stakeholders inside and outside the business while keeping the team productive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Mechanical or fitting experience (qualifications preferred)
- Experience leading in production environments
- Know-how in machine maintenance
- Know-how in preventative schedules
- Can identify production bottlenecks and plan production
- Can work with skilled and unskilled workers
- Inventory control
- Understanding of logistics
- Strong organisational skills and a safety-first mindset
- Can communicate with and motivate the team and is comfortable on software for administrative and system functions
- Happy to live rural at least Monday to Friday
