Metal Casting Trade Worker
Visa sponsorship
Trade · Christchurch, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35 - $41/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
No fluff here. A Christchurch foundry needs a Metal Casting Trade Worker, and the job is sand moulding. The employer makes marine propulsion systems found in more than 120 countries, and it builds them in New Zealand.
You need at least five years of hands-on moulding in a production foundry. Expect cores, furnaces, pours, knock-out, fettling and inspection on top of the moulding. Metals are Aluminium, AB2 aluminium bronze and Stainless Steel, so if you have cast a range of alloys, that is highly valued.
Shifts rotate, and you take whatever production needs. On Monday to Friday that is 6:00am to 2:30pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, 2:30pm to 10:30pm or 3:30pm to 11:30pm. On Sunday to Friday nights it is 10:30pm to 6:30am or 11:00pm to 7:00am. Any pattern change gets two weeks' notice or more.
The company is an accredited employer in New Zealand's AEWV system and may support sponsorship for suitably qualified applicants.
