This is proper workshop work. A busy, long-standing trailer workshop in Perth, Western Australia, needs a full-time Heavy Vehicle Body Builder / Trailer Mechanic who can build as well as fix.
You will fabricate and weld, sort out structural repairs and do bodywork on a wide range of trailer makes and models, reading technical drawings as you go. Then there is the mechanical side: inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing trailers, from brakes and suspension to running gear. If you like solving problems with your hands, this one suits you.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication, welding, structural repairs and bodywork on all kinds of trailer makes and models
- Inspecting and servicing trailers, finding faults and fixing them
- Brake, suspension and running gear repairs
- Working from technical drawings and sorting out problems hands-on
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong welder and fabricator, comfortable in steel and aluminium
- Can interpret technical drawings
- Proven track record on heavy vehicles and trailers
- Strong at mechanical fault-finding and repairs
- Knows trailer running gear from brands like Hendrickson, BPW, K-Hitch and SAF
- Experience on electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Trade qualifications that fit the role and/or solid industry experience
- Preferably: an HR or other truck licence, a forklift licence, confined space certification, intermediate rigging and overhead crane experience
