Straight to the point. A busy Emergency Department in Canberra, ACT, needs an experienced Registered Nurse, full time. If you have worked a packed casualty floor back in Mzansi, you know the pace.
The job is hands-on. You assess patients, work out a plan, give the care and check that it is doing its job, shoulder to shoulder with a multidisciplinary team. Patients and families need someone calm who speaks plainly, and that is part of the brief. The roster rotates through evenings, nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and work out a plan of emergency care
- Give the care, check it is working and adjust
- Keep nursing safe, effective and centred on the patient
- Support patients and families with calm, plain communication
- Work shoulder to shoulder with the multidisciplinary emergency team
- Cover evenings, nights and weekends on a rotating roster
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, or eligibility for registration
- At least 2 years of post-graduate nursing experience
- Postgraduate qualification in emergency nursing, or equivalent
- Ability to deliver high-quality nursing care in line with professional competency standards
- Strong critical thinking and communication
- Strong clinical decision-making
- Ability to work on your own and in a multidisciplinary team
