Warehouse Supervisor (2IC)

Receiving, picking, dispatch, stock counts and a crew to lead. As Warehouse Supervisor (2IC) in Mangere, Auckland, you are the one who keeps the floor in order, gets orders out the door and holds the line on safety and accuracy.

It is a leadership post, not a stock-shifting job. Bring proof that you have handled logistics, kept inventory under control, coordinated people, served customers and run a warehouse day to day. Your experience, skills, job history and fit will all be weighed up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the person on the floor who directs each shift's warehouse work and keeps staff motivated and supported
  • Plan the flow of goods in and out: receipt, putaway, picking, dispatch, deliveries and customer pick-ups, plus their timetables
  • Look after inbound shipments, processing of incoming containers and stock moves within the business
  • Get every customer order out right and on schedule, measuring DIFOT and wider order performance
  • Watch stock on hand, run cycle counts, chase down variances and keep inventory records and system data correct
  • Rotate stock properly and store products safely
  • Keep the site tidy, efficient and set out logically
  • Hold the team to standard operating processes and warehouse procedures, and drive and check health and safety
  • Work out staffing levels and organise temp labour when it is needed
  • Arrange servicing and certification for vehicles, machinery and gear, and keep all company property safe to use
  • Stay on top of compliance and operational certifications, along with paperwork, timesheets, reports and compliance records
  • Find better ways of working and roll out practical changes that raise efficiency and output
  • Support the Warehouse Manager with planning and rosters, partner with the wider operations team to improve what customers experience, and foster accountability, teamwork and a good culture

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated background in warehouse supervision, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
  • A track record of leading or coordinating warehouse employees, with the ability to motivate a team
  • Practical stock control and inventory management know-how, including use of inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Has dealt with customer orders, dispatch, deliveries or collections and puts the customer first
  • Knows warehouse health and safety procedures and is at ease in a hands-on warehouse setting
  • Well organised, manages time well and can handle several operational priorities at once
  • Communicates clearly in writing and in person
  • Careful and accurate, with strong attention to detail
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making, and takes the initiative on operational improvements
  • Positive and keen to learn
  • Ability to provide genuine and verifiable details of past employment and relevant experience
