A Friday night with a full house and a short-staffed bar is where this Venue Manager earns respect. A growing Queensland hospitality business in Windsor, Brisbane wants an experienced leader who works the floor, not the back office.
You will shape service standards, lift performance and build a place where staff and guests both feel valued. Running shifts is only part of it: training people, controlling costs and helping sales grow all sit with you.
Your past roles need to match what the venue needs, and your work history should hold up to reference checks and verification. Eligible candidates may be considered for employer sponsorship. Line up referees from your last two venues before you apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Be on the floor and hands-on whenever service gets busy
- Lead and motivate staff so the hospitality team is capable and engaged, including onboarding, training, coaching and ongoing development
- Plan rosters and staffing so the venue runs efficiently
- Keep an eye on stock, ordering and inventory
- Hold high standards for cleanliness, presentation and organisation
- Deal with customer complaints professionally and put practical fixes in place
- Track how the business performs, help drive sales and growth, and keep costs and venue resources under control
- Grow a team culture built on teamwork, accountability and respect
- Make sure health and safety, food safety and operating procedures are followed
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in hospitality, restaurant or venue management
- Proven at leading and developing a hospitality team
- Has handled the operational side of a busy venue
- Strong people and communication skills
- Leads with confidence and is not afraid to get hands-on
- Stays organised and effective when the venue is packed
- Experience with rostering, coordinating staff and managing inventory
- Strong customer service and good at solving problems
- Able to help hit sales and operational targets
- A relevant work history that professional references and suitable verification can support
- Committed to professional workplace and safety standards
- Can work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; eligible candidates may be considered for employer sponsorship, where applicable
