Venue Manager/ Chefs & Cooks

Picture a packed Friday service with a function running at the same time: this Manly, Brisbane QLD venue needs the person who stays calm and keeps everything flowing. The busy hospitality venue is hiring an experienced Venue Manager with solid operational know-how, strong leadership and a practical way of running a fast-moving place.

You will need real experience running teams, coordinating service and keeping daily operations smooth. Staffing, stock, the guest experience and service standards will sit with you. Expect to own how the venue performs, back your team when it gets hectic and make confident calls while every guest still feels welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the busy venue day to day and own front-of-house performance and how service is delivered
  • Lead from the floor, supervising staff through trading periods and setting the standard everyone follows
  • Write and manage rosters, and train, coach and back your team members
  • Hold service and the guest experience to a consistent standard, answering feedback and sorting out problems well
  • Handle stock orders and inventory needs, and keep an eye on labour, stock and running costs
  • Organise functions, events and special bookings
  • Keep the venue running smoothly through the busiest periods
  • Spot operational problems and put workable fixes in place
  • Build a positive, professional culture in the workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven background in venue management or senior hospitality supervision
  • Hospitality industry experience that is demonstrated and can be verified
  • A strong grasp of how front-of-house runs
  • Has led and developed hospitality teams and is confident running service when it is busy
  • Knows rostering, managing labour and controlling costs, and has handled stock and ordering
  • Strong at customer service and communication
  • Can manage functions and events
  • Well organised and able to handle competing priorities
  • A hands-on leader with a professional attitude who leads by example
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent demonstrated industry experience, with evidence to back up the skills and employment history you claim
