Spraying concrete to hold ground in place is specialist work, and a ground engineering business in Sydney, NSW, needs a Senior Shotcreter who has done plenty of it. This is a permanent, full-time role.

You will run shotcrete equipment next to seasoned anchoring and drilling crews on ground stabilisation projects, where every layer has to be accurate, consistent and safe. Your hands-on background, technical ability and project history will decide whether you are the right fit, so be ready to show real experience with the machinery and quality applications in tough ground conditions.

If you need a police clearance for the pre-employment process, South African applicants can request one from SAPS early.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and drive the shotcrete pump and spraying gear on specialist ground support jobs, getting the mix and nozzle technique right
  • Clean and ready each face before spraying, then build up layers that match the project spec and look the same from start to finish
  • Back up the anchoring and drilling crews on ground engineering jobs and keep in step with supervisors, operators and everyone else on site
  • Be the go-to person for shotcrete on your assigned jobs each day, passing your know-how on to newer crew members
  • Keep safety front of mind for the whole shotcrete crew, sticking to every project safety, quality and work procedure
  • Inspect the machines regularly and handle the routine servicing
  • Watch for shifts in ground, weather and site conditions and adjust how you work
  • Help the job finish on time and to a good standard

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A solid track record working professionally as a Shotcreter, with real time on shotcrete machines and related plant
  • Sound practical know-how in mixing concrete and spraying shotcrete
  • Work history in ground support, ground engineering or similar construction
  • Can prove and verify past relevant jobs and technical experience
  • Gets on well with anchoring and drilling crews and the wider team, and shows a real commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Nationally accredited OHS Card / White Card or equivalent
  • Full driving licence, plus your own dependable transport
  • MR licence for line pump operations where applicable
  • Handles tough site and weather conditions
  • Can pass a project-specific pre-employment medical as well as drug and alcohol screening
  • Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer-sponsored employment; visa sponsorship available for suitably qualified candidates with verifiable experience
