Sheet Metal Fabricator / Aluminium Fabricator

Cutting, bending, rolling and TIG or laser welding aluminium and sheet metal, mostly working from drawings. A Perth workshop needs an experienced Sheet Metal / Aluminium Fabricator who turns out quality products and works confidently without close supervision in a busy production setting.
The focus is on verified skills, genuine experience and fit for the role, not just a CV matched to an ad. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate, so experienced overseas tradespeople should take a look.
Hold a South African trade certificate? Keep it with your references, as trades are usually assessed again for Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and put together aluminium and sheet metal products
- Read technical drawings, plans and simple sketches
- Weld aluminium with TIG and laser welding
- Run cutting, bending and rolling machines, measuring and preparing material first
- Produce accurate fabrication and finishing, and check finished parts for quality and accuracy
- Keep production and the workshop running efficiently, and suggest better production methods
- Work with teammates to solve fabrication problems
- Look after tools, equipment and work areas, and follow all safety and workplace procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- 3–5 years or more of relevant industry experience, including previous employment as a Sheet Metal or Aluminium Fabricator
- Strong hands-on aluminium welding experience and competence with TIG or laser welding
- Able to read and follow fabrication drawings
- Experience on sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Fencing and gates experience is highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail and strong practical problem-solving
- Committed to quality and safe work practices
