Key Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead on rolling stock projects with an electrical focus, checking the electrical engineering requirements hold through every phase of delivery
- Review designs, overhaul paperwork and technical submissions from an engineering point of view
- Bring contractors, project managers and technical specialists together so engineering work stays coordinated
- Support programs that modify, refurbish and improve the reliability of the fleet, and back improvement efforts that make assets safer and more reliable
- Carry out inspections, tests, commissioning and acceptance on engineering work
- Draft scopes of work, engineering specifications, procedures and technical reports
- Investigate faults in equipment and deliver workable engineering answers
- Keep watch on project performance, compliance and engineering quality, partnering with suppliers, maintenance crews and operations stakeholders and putting complex technical matters into clear language for each of them
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive experience in the electrical engineering of rail vehicles or rolling stock
- Knows electrical system upgrades, modifications and overhaul programs in depth
- Has taken the lead on commissioning, testing and engineering investigations
- Able to write scopes of work, engineering specifications and technical documents
- Sharp analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving, plus strong communication and stakeholder management
- Has a current unrestricted driver's licence
