Project Engineer

High-rise concrete frames go up floor by floor, and every pour depends on formwork, sequencing and subcontractors lining up. An established contractor in Sydney NSW wants a capable Project Engineer to help deliver this kind of major Australian construction work.
Selection rests on skills, qualifications and project experience you can verify. The contractor wants people who can show a solid structural construction history and contribute with confidence on high-rise builds. Formwork, concrete structures, coordination and delivery experience will carry real weight. Key Responsibilities
- Run daily engineering and building activity on large projects, helping senior staff deliver and coordinate them
- Plan and check formwork and concrete structure works
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site crews, and sort out technical questions between consultants, engineers and subcontractors
- Go through drawings, specs and engineering documents
- Help build the programme, sequencing and construction plan, then track progress against schedules and milestones
- Support contract administration and project reports
- Spot problems on site and help work out practical technical fixes
- Check quality so works match what the project calls for
- Keep records, documents and progress reports up to date
- Keep site and project stakeholders talking clearly, and help finish works safely, efficiently and on time
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Management
- 2–5+ years of relevant construction work after graduating
- Proven hands-on time with concrete structures and formwork
- Has worked on high-rise, commercial or other large building projects
- Background with a construction subcontractor
- Grasp of how construction programming and work sequencing fit together, plus contract administration experience
- Strong at coordinating and managing subcontractors
- Good technical, organisational and communication skills
- Able to show and verify your relevant qualifications and work history
- Relevant construction experience from overseas is welcomed
- Able to meet Australian employment and sponsorship requirements; sponsorship is available for suitable candidates whose relevant experience is verified
