Product Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Own the handover of new products as they move from prototype into full production
- Work hand in hand with engineering, purchasing, quality and manufacturing as products are developed
- Create, prove and improve the processes used to manufacture electronic and mechanical products
- Support the test systems, fixtures and equipment used on the production line
- Investigate quality, testing and manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis, and act on them with corrective and preventive measures that improve reliability and manufacturing performance
- Study production data to find efficiency, quality and cost gains, and support lean manufacturing and ongoing process improvement
- Prepare and maintain engineering documents, including manufacturing procedures, test plans and engineering change paperwork
- Help suppliers and manufacturing partners get ready for production and keep improving, and give technical support during production and sustaining engineering work
- Travel overseas occasionally when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years working in electronics and mechanical manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of NPI (new product introduction) and of manufacturing readiness processes
- Hands-on background developing, supporting or troubleshooting test fixtures and production equipment for manufacturing
- Knowledge of inventory management, quality systems, assembly processes and electronics manufacturing
- Able to analyse manufacturing processes and put productivity and quality improvements in place
- Highly desirable: experience in PCB assembly manufacturing and electronic production testing
- Advantageous: familiarity with product lifecycle management systems or engineering documentation
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
- Professional English communication skills
- Prepared to travel internationally from time to time
