Pizza Chef / Chef

Hospitality · Bentleigh, Melbourne VIC, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

Dough stretched by hand, a wood-fired oven roaring and a produce-led menu that keeps moving forward. A Bentleigh kitchen in Melbourne needs a Pizza Chef who can run that oven and still pitch in across the main kitchen.

This is more than a pizza station job. You lead the pizza section, help with prep and general chef work, and take on responsibility when the place is packed. Technique, consistency and detail all count with wood-fired cooking.

Expect to show a solid work record, real kitchen know-how and calm under pressure. Your menu ideas are welcome, and you can grow with the business. Bring certified copies of your references to the interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the pizza section from early prep through to the last order
  • Stretch, top and fire pizzas in the wood-fired ovens, keeping every one up to the house standard for cooking and look
  • Lend a hand with prep and general tasks in the main kitchen
  • Cook confidently from a seasonal, produce-driven menu and offer ideas for new dishes
  • Keep prep and service flowing, and get set-up, changeovers, pack-down and handover done properly
  • Keep your bench spotless, tidy and set for service
  • Stick to food safety, hygiene and OH&S rules without exception
  • Talk clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house crews
  • Hit your prep and service deadlines, working on your own yet as part of the team
  • Stay steady and consistent when the rush hits
  • Help the kitchen run well day to day
