Parts Coordinator

When a mechanic is waiting on a part, the whole workshop slows down. That is why a growing automotive business in Onehunga, Auckland wants a Parts Coordinator who is accurate, dependable and knows how a workshop runs.

Your background could be parts coordination, purchasing, inventory control or service advising at a dealership. What counts is proven skill, industry experience and commitment to your career, in a workplace with staff from many countries.

Candidates who show strong automotive knowledge and reliability at work may be considered for visa sponsorship support. If you are coming from a South African dealership, have your employment letters ready to back up your experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the parts supply side so the workshop has what it needs each day, checking job requirements and placing orders efficiently
  • Keep purchase orders and paperwork accurate
  • Talk to suppliers about stock availability, deliveries and order changes
  • Check incoming deliveries against the required specs, and handle returns, cancellations, supplier credits and their records
  • Keep inventory data and stock movement history correct, watch usage trends and help hold stock at the right levels
  • Carry out regular stock audits and look into any discrepancies
  • Keep tracking records for workshop tools and equipment
  • Keep parts and workshop teams working smoothly together, and help with admin linked to vehicle preparation and workshop operations
  • Follow safety procedures when storing and handling parts

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven experience in automotive parts, purchasing, stock control or dealership operations
  • Experience as a Service Advisor with strong workshop administration skills will be considered
  • A good grasp of automotive repair processes and what parts they need
  • Careful with detail and excellent at keeping records
  • Able to organise work, hit deadlines and cope with shifting priorities, communicating professionally with suppliers and colleagues
  • Comfortable using computer systems for data entry, reporting and reconciliation, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Proven automotive industry experience suited to an overseas career move; candidates meeting the experience requirements may be eligible for visa sponsorship consideration
