Mechanic

Services, repairs and diagnostic work fill the day at this automotive workshop in Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane. The Queensland business is hiring mechanics and apprentices, and it cares more about what you can actually do on a vehicle than what your CV says.

Apprentices, people on a Job Ready Program, fully qualified mechanics and those with relevant overseas automotive experience are all welcome. The aim is to see your skills and experience recognised in a professional workshop.

If you trained as a motor mechanic in South Africa, keep your trade test certificate and workshop references handy, as Australian trades are usually assessed again.

Key Responsibilities

  • Do routine services and scheduled maintenance on vehicles
  • Check vehicles over and judge their mechanical condition
  • Track down faults with the right testing methods and gear, handling automotive diagnostic and fault-finding work
  • Work out what repairs are needed, suggest suitable fixes, then complete mechanical repairs and part replacements quickly and well
  • Handle workshop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and properly, following workshop procedures and safety standards
  • Work well on your own and with the rest of the team, keeping professional standards on all repairs and services
  • Keep growing your technical knowledge and hands-on automotive skills

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A background as an Automotive Mechanic, Apprentice Mechanic or in a relevant automotive field
  • 1st Year and 2nd Year Apprentices are encouraged to apply, and Experienced and Qualified Mechanics are welcome too
  • People completing a Job Ready Program may be considered
  • Overseas applicants with relevant automotive experience are encouraged to apply
  • Proven hands-on work in vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs
  • Automotive diagnostics and fault-finding experience is advantageous
  • Can show genuine, practical automotive ability
  • Dependable, on time and accountable
  • Professional outlook and a strong work ethic, committed to quality workmanship and safe work practices
