A long-established Western Australian agribusiness is growing its finance team. You will sit alongside senior finance staff, handle daily accounting work and widen your experience in admin, reporting and business support.
It suits someone early in their accounting career with real experience, a careful eye and the drive to keep learning. Your work history and qualifications should match what you can actually do, so have certified copies of your certificates ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Run accounts receivable: invoicing, allocating payments and managing debtors, including credits, rebates and customer claims
- Reconcile customer accounts and intercompany transactions, and help check customer accounts and compliance requirements
- Chase overdue accounts and put together aged receivables reports and collection forecasts
- Process payroll journals and keep payroll records up to date
- Prepare, or help prepare, BAS, IAS and PAYG reporting
- Keep general ledger entries, journals and fixed asset records in order, and complete month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Help produce financial and management reports, and support cash flow tracking and forecasts
- Keep financial records accurate across several business entities, using accounting software and following accounting standards and company policy
- Work with senior finance staff on reporting and financial analysis
- Join finance meetings and pull together ad hoc reports when asked
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Minimum three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts or accounting
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
- Hands-on payroll processing and Australian tax compliance
- A grasp of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
- Careful, well-organised work, with clear written and spoken communication
- Able to juggle several priorities and hit deadlines
- Experience using accounting software such as NetSuite or Reckon is advantageous
- Experience working in a multi-entity business environment is desirable
- CPA or CA studies will be highly regarded
