HVAC Tradesperson / Air Conditioning Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and service HVAC and air conditioning systems, including split, ducted and commercial systems and related equipment
- Inspect HVAC equipment thoroughly and pin down faults, diagnosing refrigeration, mechanical and electrical problems
- Handle preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Fix breakdowns and bring systems back to a safe operating condition, choosing efficient repair methods through practical diagnosis
- Recover, charge and leak-test refrigerant to the required standards
- Test how systems perform and adjust them so they run efficiently
- Work to established safety procedures and industry requirements on site
- Record completed servicing, maintenance and repairs accurately, logging faults, repair work and outcomes in the required systems
- Cooperate with clients, supervisors, technicians and other trades
- Represent the business professionally
- Keep your tools, equipment and work area organised and safety-compliant
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on HVAC or air conditioning experience preferred
- Demonstrated HVAC installation, servicing, maintenance and repair experience
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
- Technical experience that is genuine and can be verified, backed by qualification and employment documents, and willingness to complete identity, qualification and employment verification
- Strong understanding of HVAC maintenance procedures, electrical safety and workplace safety
- Works independently and adds positively to a professional team
- Advantageous: experience with commercial, industrial or specialised air conditioning systems
- Refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling experience is advantageous
- Experience with electrical controls, wiring and HVAC control systems is advantageous
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance experience: advantageous
- Able to obtain a Police Clearance and to complete required drug and alcohol screening where applicable
- Strong customer service and communication skills
