HMC Technician
Trade · Auckland CBD, Auckland, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr
Tickets in the ServiceNow queue, a hybrid-cloud platform that has to stay up, and the odd night on call when something critical breaks. That is the shape of this permanent, full-time Hybrid Multi-Cloud (HMC) Technician job in Auckland CBD, supporting large digital services used across New Zealand.
It suits an ICT person who likes cracking technical problems, keeping systems dependable and picking up new technology. You will work with technical specialists, internal teams and outside technology partners to run and improve hybrid-cloud services.
The focus is a clearly defined job and solid New Zealand work experience, not only sponsorship. South African applicants should have degree certificates and any ITIL or vendor certificates scanned and ready.

- Be first-line technical help across hybrid and multi-cloud setups, working through incidents and service requests until they are fixed
- Look after systems, carry out scheduled support tasks and follow set processes to get services back quickly
- Log and track incidents in service management tools such as ServiceNow, keeping documentation and service records up to date
- Back up senior specialists on troubleshooting and deeper investigations, and pass complex problems and operational risks up the line
- Help roll out new technology: planning, system changes, testing, deployment and project work, including national digital projects
- Spot ways to make services more reliable, efficient and easier to use, and get behind continuous improvement and new tools
- Coordinate fixes with internal teams and outside vendors
- Stick to organisational standards on security, compliance, risk and technology operations
- Take your turn on the on-call roster for critical support, staying professional, cooperative and service-minded

- Willing to join an on-call roster
- Able to satisfy relevant New Zealand employment and visa requirements; sponsorship available for suitably qualified international candidates
