The employer wants a Heavy Vehicle Technician who can show real hands-on time diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles. A qualification opens the door, but your practical skill, technical know-how and work history will decide the outcome.

Key Responsibilities
- Service heavy commercial vehicles and carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Find mechanical, electrical and diesel faults using diagnostic gear and mechanical testing methods
- Repair and fault-find across heavy vehicle systems, including breakdown and corrective work
- Inspect trucks, trailers and the components that go with them
- Work on many truck brands and customer fleets, in the workshop or out on field service jobs as needed
- Keep service records and repair paperwork up to date
- Follow health, safety and quality procedures at work
- Look after tools, equipment and service vehicles
- Work alongside other technicians and supervisors as one team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology is essential
- Proven hands-on time as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, with demonstrated servicing, repair and diagnostic ability
- A genuine employment history in heavy vehicle mechanics that can be verified
- Evidence of your relevant qualifications and work experience
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Australian working rights appropriate to the position
- Strong problem-solving on mechanical faults and commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship
- Able to work independently and as part of a technical team
- Willing to work in a workshop or out in field service
- Sponsorship available for eligible candidates, subject to requirements and approvals
