Buses and coaches one day, prime movers, cranes or small plant the next. This Western Australian fleet keeps a mechanic busy with real variety.
The employer wants qualified mechanics who are confident tracing faults, finishing repairs and keeping vehicles to a high standard. There are both FIFO and residential options out of Perth, and 482 visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
Light vehicles are part of the mix too. Have your trade test certificate and licence ready to show.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and look after a wide-ranging heavy vehicle fleet, including planned preventative maintenance
- Inspect vehicles and work out what maintenance is due
- Trace mechanical faults and choose the right fix
- Carry out repairs and replace components on diesel engines and other heavy vehicle systems
- Help with breakdown callouts and maintenance out in the field
- Get workshop and maintenance jobs done efficiently
- Keep workmanship and safety to a high standard
- Stick to operating, safety and compliance procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle, Diesel or Bus Mechanic
- Relevant time on heavy vehicles or commercial fleets, such as buses, coaches, trucks or similar equipment
- Good mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- At ease working on many kinds of vehicles
- Able to work in regional and remote WA locations
- Dependable, adaptable and safety-minded
- Current driver's licence, with HR desirable
- Able to pass pre-employment medical requirements as well as drug and alcohol screening requirements
- Eligible applicants may receive 482 visa sponsorship
