Key Responsibilities
- Do routine services, preventative maintenance and safety inspections on heavy diesel vehicles
- Track down complex mechanical faults as well as electrical and electronic ones, using the workshop diagnostic gear
- Pinpoint what caused each fault, suggest the right fix and then repair or replace the mechanical or electrical parts involved
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers and other heavy vehicles, including warranty jobs when needed
- Road-test or bench-test vehicles and equipment once repairs are done, making sure the work meets technical standards
- Log every completed job accurately
- Stick to safety procedures and workshop rules, keep the workshop spotless and lend a hand to teammates when needed
- Join technical training programs
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- At least 5 years of practical heavy diesel mechanical experience, including servicing and repairing trucks and heavy vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, backed by a solid understanding of heavy vehicle mechanical systems
- Experience working on multiple heavy vehicle brands is desirable
- Previous experience with truck and trailer repairs is highly regarded
- Comfortable working alone or as part of a team, with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to quality work
- Strong safety awareness, plus good communication and problem-solving
- HC Licence is desirable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable
