Think of this as a chance to build a kitchen from the ground up. A new hospitality venue in New South Wales needs an experienced Head Chef to put the team together, shape the food concept and set the standards the kitchen will run on from opening day onwards.
It is not a fill-a-gap hire. The employer wants someone who has already led people, kept costs under control and delivered consistent food at volume. Your track record, qualifications and background will carry the most weight when applicants are compared.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the whole kitchen operation and guide it through the venue opening into regular service
- Hire a kitchen team of more than 20 staff, then train, supervise and develop them
- Run high-volume service without letting food quality or presentation slip
- Create menus that make commercial sense
- Keep food costs, labour spend and purchasing in check
- Manage stock and cut down on waste
- Build working relationships with local suppliers
- Put solid kitchen systems and processes in place
- Make sure HACCP, food safety and WHS rules are followed
- Work hand in hand with the venue's leadership
- Track how service performs and keep improving the kitchen
Requirements & Eligibility
- Solid experience as a Head Chef or in a senior chef role, including 2–3 years’ leading a large-scale or high-volume kitchen
- A proven record of managing 20+ kitchen employees and of leading and developing staff
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications
- Hands-on menu planning and food-costing experience, backed by strong commercial and financial sense
- Clear communication and sound decision-making
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements
- Professional experience you can have verified
- A commitment to professional hospitality standards
- Willingness to relocate to regional New South Wales
