You will own the culinary direction, the team's performance and everyday kitchen standards in a premium hospitality venue. Key Responsibilities
- Own the kitchen's daily running and overall performance, keeping the team positive and accountable
- Lead, coach and grow the brigade
- Design and roll out modern, seasonal menus, using Japanese techniques and Asian-inspired flavours where they fit
- Keep taste, quality and presentation consistent so every plate meets the set standard
- Coordinate prep and service at high volume
- Watch food costs, stock and kitchen budgets, and handle ordering and supplier relationships
- Uphold food safety, hygiene and workplace compliance
- Look for ways to make kitchen systems more efficient
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, including demonstrable time in a modern, high-end or premium kitchen
- Experience with Japanese, Asian or fusion cuisine is highly desirable
- Clear evidence of leading a kitchen and supervising a team
- Experience developing menus and seasonal food concepts
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Experience running stock, food costs and kitchen operations
- Strong communication skills and a talent for developing a team
- Performs well when service is at its busiest, with a high level of attention to detail and presentation
- Professional experience must be backed by suitable employment and experience documents
