Key Responsibilities
- Look after residential and commercial gardens to a premium standard, with sharp attention to detail and an eye for improvements before they are asked for
- Handle the full spread of horticulture work: pruning, hedging, weeding, planting and keeping plants healthy
- Run the crew day to day so work flows smoothly, and pass on horticulture know-how to junior staff and apprentices
- Plan your assigned jobs and finish them inside the set timeframes
- Point out where a garden could be improved and suggest the right maintenance approach
- Use and care for gardening equipment safely and properly
- Pull together with the team for consistent service quality, and represent the business well so clients stay happy
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in horticulture, garden maintenance or landscaping, plus a relevant horticulture qualification or strong industry experience
- Confident running garden maintenance jobs on your own
- Experience as a team member who also supports others in a leadership role
- Good communicator with a professional manner
- Honest, dependable and committed to the work
- A sharp eye for detail and real pride in the finished job, with good organisation and time management
- Comfortable using hand tools, machinery and industry equipment
- Current manual driver's licence; candidates with suitable experience or qualifications may be considered for sponsorship visa opportunities
