Key Responsibilities
- Keep forklifts and all sorts of material handling machines running through servicing, maintenance and repairs, in the workshop or on a customer's premises
- Track down faults through diagnostics and fix them properly
- Carry out planned preventative servicing that keeps equipment dependable, safe and productive
- Look after customers with fast, professional technical help, and represent the company with top workmanship, courteous communication and a customer-first attitude
- Assess the state of machines and give accurate technical reports and repair advice
- Test, tune and adjust equipment until it runs safely and well
- Complete the service paperwork and log every inspection, repair and finished job accurately
- Put safety first, meeting Australian workplace health and safety rules, and keep tools, gear and your work area safe and orderly
- Team up with seasoned technicians, service staff and customers for good outcomes, and learn the products and technology through ongoing training and mentoring
Requirements & Eligibility
- A track record in a technical role such as Forklift Service Engineer, Service Technician or Maintenance Technician
- Trade-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment or a related field, with hands-on industry experience to match
- Minimum three years' practical work servicing, fixing or maintaining forklifts and material handling machines
- Skilled at finding faults in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and technical systems, and experienced in both preventative and corrective maintenance
- Gets the message across clearly in English to customers and colleagues
- A proven focus on good workmanship, safety at work and professionalism
- Can supply checked records of past employment, qualifications and evidence of skills
- Ready to move and make a long-term career in Australia
- Can meet the applicable Australian visa sponsorship and skills assessment requirements; eligible candidates can get visa sponsorship
