Fitter Welder

Trade · Christchurch Central, Canterbury, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35/hr

No two weeks look the same in this Canterbury workshop. One job might be a custom truck deck, the next a crane installation, a trailer build or a transport repair. The growing engineering business in Christchurch Central wants a skilled Fitter-Welder who has proven themselves on the workshop floor.

Sometimes you will have detailed drawings to follow; sometimes you will lean on your own judgement. Either way, you need to understand each job, work accurately, make good decisions and hand over work that meets professional engineering standards in welding, fitting, fabrication and assembly.

Welders from South Africa should keep their trade certificates and any welding tickets ready to show.

  • Get short-notice, fast-turnaround jobs through the workshop quickly
  • Weld and fabricate to the quality standard, then inspect each job for correct dimensions, sound structure and a good finish
