Field Service Technician

One day you are in the workshop stripping down a boom lift; the next you are on a customer's site getting a scissor lift back to work. This permanent full-time post in Wellington is for a technician who knows Access/EWP equipment inside out.
The employer cares most about your trade background, your hands-on ability and experience that can be checked. Sponsorship is part of the picture, but it is not the main point. You will support customers and keep specialised machines safe, reliable and ready to go.

Key Responsibilities
- Find faults and carry out mechanical repairs on Access/EWP equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and similar machines
- Do scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, both in the workshop and on customer sites
- Work out what is wrong mechanically and recommend the right repair
- Give technical support to customers and to internal teams
- Keep accurate records of every service, inspection and repair
- Make sure machines are kept to safety and operational requirements
- Work efficiently across different equipment types and service settings, keeping communication with customers and colleagues professional
- Keep building your technical knowledge across the company's equipment range
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in machinery diagnosis, repair and maintenance, with at least 2 years' direct experience on Access/EWP equipment
- Demonstrable experience with both petrol and diesel machinery
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Able to provide evidence of your relevant qualifications and employment experience
- Full and valid driver's licence
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills, and able to work independently in a field-service setting
- Committed to workplace safety and professional standards
- Eligible to work in New Zealand or able to qualify for an appropriate work visa; sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas candidates with verified experience
