Cairns, Queensland: a long-standing early learning provider is adding 5 Early Childhood Teachers to its kindergarten staff, all on a full-time basis.
Your days centre on government-approved kindergarten programs. You plan learning, get to know the children and their families, and work side by side with other educators. The provider puts weight on child development, collaboration between staff and careers that last.
Eligible overseas candidates can be sponsored for a visa, which may open a route for suitably qualified teachers from abroad to grow their careers in Australia. Each package can be shaped to the person and may include flexible arrangements, competitive remuneration and potential help with childcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver kindergarten learning that is engaging and pitched at each child's developmental stage
- Create a room where every child feels secure, included and stimulated
- Nurture each child's individual learning, growth and wellbeing
- Design, write up and reflect on educational experiences
- Observe children and record their progress, keeping digital programs, observation notes and portfolios current
- Earn children's trust through warm, respectful connections
- Partner with parents and families and keep them informed about their child's development and learning outcomes
- Collaborate with other educators and teaching staff, sharing knowledge and ideas with Early Childhood Teachers across the wider group
- Put the National Quality Standards and National Regulations into practice, alongside sound health, safety and wellbeing habits, and help the kindergarten program keep improving
- Keep learning through professional development and ongoing training
- Add to a workplace culture that is positive, respectful and collaborative
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- OR hold an approved Diploma-level Early Childhood Education and Care qualification while actively studying towards an ACECQA-approved ECT qualification
- OR be actively studying towards an approved ECT qualification that is at least 50% complete; under this 50% completed route you must supply academic transcripts
- Applications from overseas-qualified candidates are encouraged
- Satisfy applicable ACECQA assessment requirements
- Satisfy the relevant English language requirements
- Satisfy eligibility requirements for the applicable Australian visa pathway
- Be eligible to obtain, and hold onto, a Queensland Working with Children Blue Card
- Clear a National Police Check successfully
- Hold current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training, or obtain these qualifications as required
- Communicate strongly in writing and in speech
- Genuinely passionate about early childhood education, understands how children learn and develop, and is committed to a long-term career in the early childhood sector
- Brings enthusiasm, energy and a strong professional work ethic, and is reliable, flexible and willing to pitch in with the team
- Can form positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
