Early Childhood Teacher And Educators

From babies in the nursery to children in the kindergarten room, this Melbourne early learning centre cares for every stage in between. The centre is well established in Victoria and is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher or Early Childhood Educator on a full-time permanent basis.

You will plan play-based learning, track each child's growth and work as part of a close, supportive team. Professional development, long-term career prospects and a good work-life balance come with the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and run engaging learning programs, delivering quality education and care in line with approved frameworks
  • Encourage each child's learning, growth and wellbeing across social, emotional, physical and cognitive areas
  • Keep the room safe, clean, inclusive, nurturing and welcoming
  • Watch, assess and record how children are progressing, and keep records and learning documentation accurate
  • Build good relationships with children, families and co-workers
  • Work as one team with fellow educators and centre leaders
  • Follow Early Childhood Education regulations and centre policies
  • Help drive continuous quality improvement, and take part in team meetings and professional development
  • Guide behaviour positively and use inclusive practices

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in an early childhood education setting
  • Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and an understanding of the National Quality Standard (NQS)
  • A strong grasp of current early childhood education practice
  • Excellent people and communication skills, and works well within a collaborative team
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn and develop, and a commitment to high-quality education and care
  • Well organised and good at managing time
