Duty Manager

Opening up, keeping the floor moving through a packed evening, sorting out a complaint and closing off the reports: the Duty Manager keeps a busy hospitality venue in New South Wales on track. The employer wants someone who will own the venue's results, lead people with confidence and give every guest a strong experience.
Your leadership record must be clear and able to be professionally verified. Day to day you will keep things organised, back your staff and make sure the venue hits its service, safety and compliance standards. Note that this role asks for current onshore status in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Be accountable for how the venue runs each day and the service it delivers
- Oversee the floor and bar staff so shifts run without hiccups, and help with rosters, training and staff development
- Set the tone by example and keep the place professional and guest-focused
- Keep an eye on how happy guests are and resolve complaints well
- Handle stock counts, inventory and orders from suppliers
- Make sure the venue meets health and safety rules, venue requirements and its licensing obligations
- Help run promotions, functions and special events
- Go through sales figures, staff performance and guest feedback, give management accurate reports, and act quickly on problems that affect service
Requirements & Eligibility
- You have proven professional experience supervising or managing in hospitality, including leading teams
- You know how venues and bars run, in practice
- You communicate well, look after customers and relate easily to people, and you make sound calls when things are moving fast
- You have handled stock and basic financial duties
- You can work evenings, weekends and flexible hospitality shifts
- Relevant hospitality or management qualifications are desirable
- Current onshore status in Australia
- You can supply genuine, verifiable proof of relevant work experience; sponsorship is available for the right candidate
