One hour you are pulling shots, the next you are prepping in the kitchen or helping at the bar. This Cook role in Ulmarra, Coffs Harbour and the North Coast of NSW is really a Hospitality All-Rounder job with an established business.
The employer needs a practical person who can walk into any part of the operation, see what needs doing and get on with it without someone watching. Coffee, café service and kitchen support are the core, and bar or cooking experience is a plus.
Your proven skills, reliability and ability to cover several areas will count most, and your hospitality experience must be verifiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Make and serve coffee and other café drinks
- Look after customers with friendly, professional service and help run the café and front of house each day
- Help behind the bar when needed
- Prep ingredients, assist with food preparation and take on kitchen hand or cooking tasks to suit your experience
- Switch between service and kitchen work as the day demands, keeping pace in busy periods
- Keep everything clean and hygienic, following food safety and workplace rules
- Talk clearly with the rest of the team
- Own the tasks you are given and finish them reliably
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven hands-on experience in the hospitality industry
- Strong barista and café service skills, plus practical time as a kitchen hand or cook
- Confidence working across different areas of hospitality
- Previous bar service experience is an advantage
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proven reliability and punctuality
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work on your own, with a positive, cooperative attitude in a team
- Able to handle pressure when service gets busy
- Willing to work flexible hospitality hours, including weekends
- Hospitality experience must be capable of being verified
