Breakfast and brunch is the whole focus of this kitchen in Mudgee, in the Central West of New South Wales. The hospitality business behind it is growing fast and needs a Cook who can own their section during service and send out the same plate, to the same recipe, every time.
Expect busy services, set kitchen systems and honest feedback. The employer is after practical skill, reliability and the discipline to hold standards when the dockets pile up. Sort out your employment evidence early, such as reference letters that show your cooking history.
Key Responsibilities
- Run your cooking duties through service with little supervision
- Get prep and mise en place done to match each day's needs
- Cook Australian breakfast and brunch classics, making each dish to the set recipes and specifications
- Keep food quality, presentation and portions consistent
- Stick to the kitchen's recipes, procedures and operating systems
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and food-safe to a high standard
- Work quickly with the rest of the team and keep talking to them through busy services
- Take feedback on board and make the improvements asked of you
- Help cover weekend and public holiday trading when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Hands-on experience cooking breakfast and brunch-style dishes
- Able to work confidently and on your own during service
- A proven track record of following recipes and set kitchen systems, with a consistent approach to food preparation and quality standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Professional, punctual and reliable
- Stays calm and organised when the kitchen is fast-paced
- Willing to accept constructive feedback and follow workplace procedures
- Available on weekends and public holidays
- Relevant work experience backed by appropriate employment evidence; eligible candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship
