Key Responsibilities

  • Cook meals from approved recipes and menu requirements, matching each patient's dietary and nutritional needs
  • Coordinate prep for breakfast, lunch and dinner and get meals out within production and service timeframes
  • Keep quality, presentation, consistency and portion control at a high standard
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety procedures
  • Check food storage and rotate stock correctly
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised and hygienic
  • Work closely with the catering team for smooth service, and adapt to changing operational needs without letting standards slip
  • Help patients have a positive experience through reliable, quality food

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated professional Cook experience in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality or catering
  • Practical knowledge of commercial cooking and food preparation procedures, and an understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling
  • Relevant food handling or food safety qualifications
  • Follows recipes, menus, dietary instructions and workplace procedures consistently
  • Works efficiently in a busy kitchen and meets strict service deadlines
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach focused on quality and detail
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • A genuine interest in supporting patient wellbeing through quality meals
  • Able to satisfy applicable employment, work-rights, reference, criminal history and health-related pre-employment requirements; visa sponsorship available for the right candidate
