Key Responsibilities
- Make Italian dishes the way the kitchen expects, and help out on pasta, sauces and classic Italian preparation
- Handle mise en place and the day's prep work
- Make sure every plate tastes and looks the same and meets quality standards
- Stick to recipes, set cooking procedures and what the senior chefs tell you
- Move fast and stay efficient during busy service
- Keep your bench clean, orderly and hygienic, following food safety and work health and safety requirements
- Help other kitchen team members whenever needed
- Accept feedback and use the new techniques and procedures you are shown
- Be reliable, professional and positive on every shift
- Contribute to a kitchen where people respect each other and get things done
Requirements & Eligibility
- A demonstrated interest in, or experience with, commercial cooking, and a genuine love of Italian cuisine
- Consistent and dependable at work
- Hard-working and ready to take on responsibility
- Takes direction well and learns from experienced chefs
- Hands-on kitchen ability in line with how much experience you have
- Any previous hospitality or kitchen experience is advantageous
- A good team player and communicator
- Wants to develop a professional career within the Australian hospitality industry; applicants from entry-level through to experienced backgrounds may be considered
- Able to share genuine and verifiable information about your skills or employment where required
- Must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements; eligible candidates can receive visa sponsorship
